The term delivery service and/or delivery service designates a service, which operates the organized distribution of products of the own or a strange enterprise in paragraph logistics. Quality and condition of the delivery service can be determined on the basis the following characteristic numbers:
- The delivery time describes the time between transmission of an order from the customer to the supplier and arrival of the ordered commodity with the customer.
- The delivery reliability indicates whether the assured date of delivery can be kept. Except the date loyalty, thus, the delivery reliability contains also a statement of the agreement between customer's request date and realized date of delivery for the deliverability of a distribution system. It expresses the probability, with which an order from the stock can be served.
- The supply condition on the one hand the delivery accuracy becomes, i.e. the accuracy regarding kind and quantity of the ordered articles of a supply, and on the other hand the condition of the supply counted.
- The delivery flexibility of a distribution system depends on the fixed order and delivery modalities, the degree of information exchange and the compatibility of the logistics systems of the partners. It makes it for the system logistician possible to be able to deal flexibly with customer's requests.
- A special form of the delivery service represents the purchase delivery service, with which in a complete service the basic supply of a household is to be gesichtert.
- Purchase delivery service contrary to conventional delivery services in Germany still no mass-market for itself discovered. Differently in the USA where this form of the selling distribution a usual auxiliary service of the supermarkets represents.
- In the reference to old person integration offers this form delivery services as complete service - beside the classical "rolling markets" the basis for many older humans its basic supply to secure, which straight will be ever more difficult in rural areas in the future.
- Here long smaller shops and of this modern form become yield on short or, since larger supermarkets settle almost exclusively in cities, which of unmobilen and/or older humans can be badly achieved.
