James Herriot (* 3 October 1916 in Roker, Sunderland; "† 23 February 1995 in Thirsk, North England; Name James Alfred Wight) was an English veterinary surgeon and writer.

James Herriot buildup in Scotland, studied in Glasgow veterinary medicine and received an assistant place in the North Yorkshire Dales. Its son took over later paternal practice, while its daughter became a lady doctor.

In Germany it by a television multi-divisor which is based on its book the doctor and the dear cattle admits, its books published starting from 1970.
