The series ET 170 (starting from 1968 series 470) of the German Federal Railroads are with the rapid-transit railway in Hamburg in use and from the series 471 were passed on. The were resident in the German Federal Armed Forces Hamburg Ohlsdorf.
1959 were for the first time introduced this series. In this year the distribution to the German course took place also equal. The distribution ran until 1979. The producers MAN ONES, O & K, Rathgeber, way man, SSW and BBC had to manufacture 45 pieces of this series.
The Triebzug is a three-part set. The operating numbers are 470,101 - 470,145 for some final car, 870,001 - 870,045 for the Mittelwagen and 470,401 -470 445 for the other final cars.
For the car boxes one selected a welded lightweight construction construction, with which the drip tray is taken as basic part.
The flight compartment windows at the front front were pulled around the corner, which makes a panorama possible. The final cars have automatic sharp mountain clutches at the face. Between the cars of a set a Kurzkupplung is present, which can be solved only in the workshop. These transitions offer also no passage for the travelers. Each car has 4 double sliding doors, which can be opened electro-pneumatically at both pages. The flight compartment has extra a door.
The rotary stands were manufactured by way man. Way man implemented the rotary stands with a twisting-soft H-framework. Coil springs and absorbers provide for controlled cushioning of the wheel sets and on the rotary stand.
The series 470 mostly point themselves to blue or ocean-blue/beige. Sometimes the courses could be seen as advertising media.
The driving stream is taken up over four Schleifer per side of the car. In addition, the Schleifer is provided with a Druckluftantrieb, can be operated manually.
In the final cars 8 direct current series motors are present. These are implemented in the Tatzlagerbauart. The Mittelwagen are not propelled serve however for the accommodation of electrical aggregates in their drip tray.
There is also with this series the possibility energy when braking to the net If the net does not take up the energy, then to the Widerstandsbremse one switches automatically.
The motor coach has a disc brake, a Sifa, a course course radio and a Vielfachsteuerung. The latter makes in the enterprise the combination with the series for ET possible 171 and/or 471.
The cars have inside a region with open vis A vis compartments. The Mittelwagen are implemented as 1.Klasse and the final cars as 2.Klasse. Behind the flight compartments load compartments are to be found.
The series ET 170 and ET 171 were replaced by the series 474. Last regular employment day was the 17.Dezember 2002
