The small evergreen or (Vinca minor) originates from the family of the dog poison plants (Apocynaceae).

Characteristics

Vinca minor becomes 10, at the most 15 cm highly. The sheets are against-constantly located, eggly-shaped, ganzrandig, leather-like and dark-green, on the back yellow. The blooms have a diameter of 2-3 cm. With the game places the blooms are blue-violet and only rarely white. Vinca minor flowers from April May.

Spreading

The small evergreen grows in shady or halfshady nutrient-rich forests, particularly in beech forests, where it can form mass existence. It occurs in central and south Europe and in small Asia.

Other

The small evergreen is often planted as Bodendecker for shady or halfshady locations. There are sorts with white, light-dark-blue or red-violet blooms in the trade also.
