The streetcar Winnyzja was opened on 28 October 1913. The course is built in the Russian Breitspur.

In the years 1955, 1958, 1963, 1966, 1968, 1977, 1986 and 1991 new distance sections were opened for the extension of the net. Until at the beginning of the 1990er was driven on the network of altogether nine lines. 2003 remained remaining by these only four. Almost exclusively act RA vehicles are used. 2003 was carried on average of 360,000 passengers per day.

Like nearly all enterprises of the Ukraine the enterprise with high deficits works. The ticket sales covers only 50% of the costs. The fact that by law may drive nearly 2/3 of all passengers free of charge, does its remaining. The debts of the course are carried by the state.
